Owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Andrew “Drew” Conroy and Barbara Conroy, AC Pools brings over 30 years of experience in the swimming pool industry. Their hands-on approach, dedication to quality, and deep industry knowledge have earned them a reputation as one of the top custom pool builders in North Carolina.
Based in Carolina Beach, AC Pools specializes in concrete (gunite) and fiberglass swimming pool construction. The company serves the greater Wilmington area, including Wrightsville Beach, Hampstead, and other nearby coastal communities. AC Pools also works inland in key markets such as Southern Pines, Pinehurst, Raleigh, and Fayetteville.
While Drew leads the pool design and construction side of the business, Barbara oversees a dedicated portfolio of pool maintenance clients. She provides expert weekly service and is certified in National Plaster Council (NPC) start-up protocols—ensuring newly plastered pools are treated and maintained properly from day one.

My one goal is to provide a quality product and/or service to homeowners. In my time with AC Pools I have learned how to operate heavy equipment, frame and reinforce forms in preparation for concrete shoots, as well as experience in plumbing, masonry, and a bit of electrical work. I am so proud of our team for the pools we’ve built on pilings, as each one is a different ballgame on how to approach building it and stabilizing it in order to hold water while 5 feet off of the ground.
